so i was sitting home and doing some work when the fishing fever hit me... so i made some plans to go fishing on saturday (26/1/13). headed over to tackle box at ss15 and bought some new line (10lb) mono test and headed home. spooled it on my faithful sienna1000 and samurai ... was so lazy to go out and buy bait so i got some slices of bread. saturday came and i got up...LATE!!!!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>thanks to my sleepyhead cousin. Rushed for a quick bath and the time was 8.00. was supposed to hit the water by 6.45. headed to the lake and noticed no one was fishing there so i relaxed a bit... wasn't expecting to catch anything..just wanted to wet my line. hooked on some bread and began fishing.. out of the corner of my eye i saw some movement just outside the drain...went to check it out snd i saw some seluang washed up... grabbed one and hooked it on my no8 hook and cast it out.... 3 mins later the line went tight and a small peacock bass came up... took a pic and promptly released it. hooked on another seluang and cast it out to the same spot... got another peacock bass that was slightly bigger then the previous one. the day got a little hot(cousin is a puteri lilin) and i headed home... 2 fish landed withing 45mins is great right.. especially in a lake with high fishing pressure and a noisy cousin screaming "REEL IT IN..REEL IT IN" in your ear. heres some pics.. i must admit that i felt pretty guilty releasing an invasive species back into the lake. i'll try and do something the nest time i'm back....Which will be very soon. i'll be back with some suicide micro lures since the lake and the spot i fished is quite snaggy. /Users/Josh/Desktop/IMG_1346.JPG

the bait fish i found was this fish known as seluang and they were all almost dead.. i guess the bait just has to be fresh... the peacocks are quite small but on ultralight gear... thats another ball game altogether right?

What I meant is, the Subang Lake was previously swarmed by anglers in any possible way. Bottom, casting, and I once heard that there is one incident where 1 Spear-fishing practitioner went for a dive and spear-fishing in the lake. Over-fishing or in this case, catch and release is not being practice. I doubt that there is still PB in the lake, seems like I'm wrong.

Will try to give it a try later and hopefully, a strike! :)

yeah please do ... ... the spot is exactly on your left if you were to approach from the carpark just (opposite of the ex pay pond{kolam halim} )
it basically is right near the drain which flows into the other pond. the place is all flat in terms of terrain and is quite nicely landscaped. there is one mother of a log down there i guess(. i'll be hitting the lake again around chinese new year hols... beware of the snags.. and if you see the uncle please give him a lecture.. ... its sad how a nice place can turn into a horrible one in just a short time... its so simple... if people want to enjoy the fishing then CnR is the way to go and if they must murder some catch then at least good practice bag limits and SPEAR FISHING?!!!! in a lake?!!! ... woah.... thats quite new..

i know the spot, mate
used to fish there nights often ... water level seems to have risen

used to see scum diving for fish and crayfish
unscrupulous meathunters are the scourge of the earth
those who go for dinner plate size catch are fine

good show, mate
i draw the line at invasive foreign species

if you have medium set, try casting out to the weedy area in front with live baitfish
either just beyond or to the side ... 50/50 chance you might hook into something that'll give you a good time ;)
